Old News

December 15, 2002 - In the spirit of the season, we're giving you, our loyal fans, a special present. We've put the video from our performance at The New VI up on the site for you to download. Go get it from the music page. Grab it quick though, because it won't be there for long!

December 14, 2002 - We would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who came to our CD release party last night. You were a wonderful audience and we really enjoyed performing for you. If you missed it, we will be bringing the CD to stores very soon. It will likely be for sale at Lyle's Place and Ditch Records.

November 28, 2002 - Yes, it's the moment you've all been waiting for. The CD release party is Friday, December 13 at Thursdays Pub. Our very own David Chenery will open the show with some of his solo stuff, followed by blues guy Tim Holland. This CD has been a long time coming, and we're looking forward to having you all hear it. I'll be taking down the old mp3s shortly to make way for a few songs off the new disc, so if you want to keep a copy for posterity, better grab it quick!

November 12, 2002 - The album is complete! Artwork for the cover is in the works, and once that's done we will be sending it off to be pressed. Pretty exciting, huh? We're shooting for a December CD release party. In the meantime, we've got T-shirts for sale! Choose from a dark blue t-shirt or a v-neck girly ringer T, light blue with dark blue trim. Both have the Moonshine Revellers logo on the front. I'll get pictures of them on the site soon. Or come to our show at Soundgarden on November 16 and you can see one for yourself!

September 16, 2002 - After a brief hiatus from performing to finish up our album, The Moonshine Revellers are back in action! We're scheduled to make an appearance on The New VI's VI Land News on September 18 at 5pm. We are playing at Steamers Pub on September 20 and we're hitting The Cambie in Nanaimo on October 4. There's also a few more pictures posted.

July 29, 2002 - A long weekend is almost upon us, and what better way to kick it off than with an evening of live music? If you are going to be in the Nanaimo area on August 2, drop by The Cambie and check out our crazy scene. Show starts around 10, cover is $4. Then on August 7, we will be opening up for Little Hannah at Steamers Pub. More info on the gigs page. And be sure to tune into The New VI on Saturday evening, as there will be a New VI camera crew at the Nanaimo show. We will likely be on the VI Land news at 6pm and 11pm, or we might be on VIParade at 7:30pm. I'll post an update here and on the mailing list when I find out for sure.

August 3, 2002 - Sorry to anyone who tried to catch us on The New VI, they weren't able to make it to our gig. They've promised to get us on there at some point, so keep watching this space and we'll let you know as soon as we know.

July 15, 2002 - We're emerging from our world of dark basements and dimly lit pubs to play a FREE concert in the sunshine at Centennial Square! It's on July 21 at 1pm. Be there at noon and you can catch another great local band, Little Hannah.
In other news, superfan Jay Armstrong sent me a whole bunch of pictures, so I've put them in their own album (mostly because I was too lazy to sort them into seperate albums). Our friend jade also sent in a bunch. I'm considering combining the seperate albums into one big album, attaching information about each photo individually. Let me know what you think of the idea.

June 25, 2002 - We're opening up for Grace Nocturnal at Thursdays on July 11th. Details here. Also, the archives of The Martlet have disappeared from the Internet, so I've reposted the article about us here.

June 19, 2002 - The band is celebrating its first anniversary this month with a gig at The Cambie! We've got The Laser Mounties opening up for us. Check out the details on the gigs page. Also, some more photos have been posted.

June 6, 2002 - Yet another short notice gig! This one's at Steamers Pub, opening for Naked Ear.

May 30, 2002 - Lots of cool stuff to tell you about. We've got a gig at Lucky Bar on Monday June 3rd. Gotta love short notice, eh? In recording news, we've finished tracking bass and drums for our upcoming CD. It's been lots of hard work, but we're sure it will all pay off. In the meantime, we've posted a new mp3 in the music section to tide you over. I've also updated the bio, let us know what you think!

May 7, 2002 - Work continues on the album. So far, we have the bass and drums recorded for seven songs. We plan on recording a total of eleven songs for the album. In the meantime, a new gig has been posted, pictures from the most recent Steamers show are online, and we've added a link on the links page to an article about us that was published in The Martlet.

April 3, 2002 - Thanks to everyone who came out to listen to us at the Cambie on Saturday. We've got another gig coming up at Steamers Pub on April 25th, opening for good nite irene. Check out the gigs page for more information.
Addendum: good nite irene is the band of the month at The Zone 91.3.

March 26, 2002 - Great things are afoot for The Moonshine Revellers. With Gilles' guidance, we have begun the process of refining the songs for our first album. In the meantime, a new gig has been posted. It's at the Cambie on March 30th. Come enjoy a night of folk rock with just a hint of country.

News flash! We'll be doing an interview and performing a couple songs on camera for Shaw cable access (Channel 11) which will be airing on Thursday and Friday, beginning at 6pm and repeating every 20 minutes.

February 3, 2002 - We're playing the Cambie in Nanaimo on February 8th. When we find out what the cover charge will be and when the doors open, we'll post it on the gigs page. Also, some pictures from the gig at Thursday's Pub have been put online. Thanks to everyone who came, we had a great time!

January 22, 2002 - We've posted the lyrics to An Honest Moment and Boneyard Flower on the Music page. We also have a couple items listed on our Merchandise page.
